I was going over pictures taken in Ireland and enjoying the wonderful memories of being there. These are a few miscellaneous photos that caught my eye. The flowers were taken on a nature trail, the street lamp in the city of Galway, and lastly, the little red man...
It is a pedestrian traffic signal; 'Do Not Walk!' I took while we were riding on a double-decker tour bus. We slowed down at an intersection and click went the camera.

I have shown the results of editing photos and, although this may be a repeat, the steps are different in the processing of these.
The best time to take photos out of doors is in the morning and late afternoon, when the sun has not risen. Often, photos have a 'cast' on then when taken with the sun is bright and higher in the sky. This same effect happens when taking pictures through glass. possibly at a zoo.
These are 'Before & After" photos. The first was taken from our patio of our backyard.
The next was taken in St. Patrick's Cathedral in Dublin, Ireland. It was a side room and the sun bleached our the colors in the 'Before' picture. With a click, I was able to straighten the columns. The columns in the first picture tilt in toward each other at the top, which is called 'keystone effect.'

Did ET leave home again in an Under Armour Tee shirt?
Or it this one of our neigh-bors on the other side of our back fence?
The neigh-bor did not like this picture and said that his profile was much better.

I have not much time to take picture recently and as I was scanning photos on my computer, I came across these Pond Lilies shots. I remembered taking them. When I focused on the purple flowers in front, the Pond Lilies were not in focus. When I focused on the Pond Lilies, the purple flowers were not in focused.
I merged the two photos in Photoshop Elements using the 'layers' function. Simply put, I put one photo one top of the other and erased the unfocused area of the top photo, which allowed the focused area of the bottom photo to be visible. I put a vignette on the finished photo to cause one's eye to fixate on the center of the photo.
Here is the result. (I included the two working photos to show the difference in the focused point)
Focused on the purple flower
Focused on the Pond Lily

I posted some photos of fireworks last week, however, I did not mention that there must have been a malfunction for the finale. It ended with bright white flashes in the sky accompanied with very loud bangs. Too loud!
This photo is composite of what I envisioned should be a finale. The display in the center was chosen overwhelmingly as the favorite, thus it has the place of honor.

When the Fourth of July falls on a weekend, the whole weekend is a celebration of independence. Have you ever read The Declaration of Independence?

Happy Birthday, America!
Now to the mundane...
I posted the first picture on our trip to Ireland, which is such an enjoyable memory. The picture is of Kylemore Abbey. I was asked if the coloring of the building was as sent. I can say that it was what the camera registered as that particular time; 6:30 pm, June 5, 2016. I decided to do some photo-proccessing...
The next three pictures were processed in my HDR, High Dynamic Range, software; yes, I used a black and white photo with the colored photos.
Here is the result. I did 'jack' up the yellow slider to give it more warmth.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AMERICA!
Last evening, First Redeemer Church, in Cumming, GA has it's annual Independence Day celebration. The fireworks are great and very noisy this year. They also honor veterans in attendance by introducing them individual and giving them each a gift for making independence possible.
My set up for taking the pictures was different than I have done previously, when shooting fireworks. I set the focus just short of 'infinity,' put the camera in manual mode, set the shutter at 'bulb,' the shutter stays open as long as I had the shutter release engaged, and composed the shot with the first fireworks display in the sky...and left it there. I never changed any settings thereafter.
